How the job is done: First, the old flooring comes up where needed and the subfloor is checked and prepped flat. Then the new floor goes in — tile set and grouted, wood or vinyl laid out and locked in — with clean cuts at edges and doorways. Everything is checked and the room is cleaned up.

Materials and setup: Tile, wood, or vinyl flooring as the job calls for, plus underlayment, grout, and trim. Materials are quoted as part of the job.

What to expect: A level, clean-finished floor that holds up to daily life.
